The one about my epiphany

Did I ever tell you about the time I had a total epiphany? No? Ok, well get comfy and I’ll begin.

Earlier this year I had to turn down yet another client who wanted to work with me. Yet another small business owner who desperately needed my help, but couldn’t afford my rates. It made me feel like a failure. Like I was really letting the side now. Like I was missing something really important.

I’ve done my industry research and my day rate is on a par with consultants at my level, plus I deliver masses of value, so that wasn’t the problem. The thing is, although I love working with the bigger brands and corporates, small businesses have a special place in my heart. And they should, I have one myself and know the trials and tribulations of running your own gig. I felt like I was becoming elitist and I didn’t want to be that person.

So I’ve been back to the drawing board to redesign my business. Revisiting my values. Reconnecting with my WHY. You see my WHY, and the big reason I do what I do, is to bring people’s dreams to life online. To help them smash their business goals so that they can bring their personal goals to life. And this, my friends, is why I created my Simply Smart Business Academy.
