
When clients apply to work with me, they fill in a form and tell me what their biggest obstacles are in their business right now.
The things that keep getting in their way.
The things that keep them awake at night.
The things that make them as mad as a box of frogs.
One of the most common of these is …. marketing and sales.
I hear it all the time.
“I have no idea what I should do for my business.”
“I have no idea where my customers are.”
“I have no time to do it all, but don’t know what I should focus on.”
“Gemma, I hate sales … I HATE IT!!”
I get it. Sales is as scary as hell (well until you’ve had the right training from me). And marketing is as confusing as hell too.
THERE ARE SO MANY CHOICES!
Well, I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way.
What if you could have a simple marketing system that’s bang-on right for you AND your people?
What if you had a simple sales system to convert those lovely people into customers?
Sounds good, right?
Well, this is entirely possible when you create a simple marketing and sales system that works with your budget and time available. I create these with and for my clients and have trialled so many different options, all of which get outstanding results.
Here are a few tips for doing this yourself, primarily it’s about focusing on the ONE MAIN THING.
Your Customer
You need to know your prospects inside out. What are their biggest struggles? What keeps them awake at night? What do they need to make everything better?
This helps you to create the right offers and solutions that solve their problems and then create spot-on messaging that strikes a nerve so hard their desire to connect with you, and then buy from you, is huge.
Guesswork doesn’t work here. You need to roll up your sleeves and dive in. Research them, listen to them, stalk them .. until you know exactly what they need from you.
Your Platforms
During your research, you’ll find out where your prospects hang out online. This is where you need to focus your marketing efforts. If they hang out on a few social media channels and you’re strapped for time, pick one and do that really, really well.
Primary Content Format
Pick your primary content format of choice.
This is the one format that you can use to repurpose that content from (there’s no point reinventing the wheel). These can be a podcast, blog, Facebook Lives, YouTube Lives, Instagram posts and lives…
Once you have this one main format, you can then create a marketing system to repurpose that content across other channels and automate it. This system should be replicated, consistently, to ensure you keep relevant leads coming into your business.
Collect Leads
Create opt-ins that are scattered across your online world, including within your content, to bring people to your email list consistently. This is where you can nurture the relationship with them and make offers that are right for them, depending on which opt-in they’ve signed up for. It also builds the list ready for when you want to launch something bigger.
Conversion
Make sure you have the right follow up and call scripts that are fully aligned with your customer to help you convert a prospect into a customer. So many people miss this part of the puzzle, but it’s the most important bit!
People need around 7 touches before they buy from you and the marketing can handle that side of things, but once that’s done you need to think about how you prove to those people that your thing is the perfect thing for them to buy.
Your sales call and email follow-ups need to be on point, and once they are, you’ll see a big increase in conversions.
