On protecting your inner circle

As Seen In...

I truly believe that you become the sum of your surroundings, so make sure you curate your world wisely.

Welcome to the latest episode of The Simply Smart Business Show. In this show, I’m talking about some of the lessons I learned during my recent launch…

Not marketing tricks and tips, not sales suggestions, but what that launch taught me about RELATIONSHIPS. Because relationships are the cornerstone of everything.

We have access to so many people in this online world. It’s wonderful. It opens us up to so many opportunities BUT there is a dark side.

I believe in my core that we become the sum of our surroundings. The people we listen to, the people we learn from, the things we read, the conversations we have…

We digest all of that information and it’s what we use to build our belief system.

But not all of those things we’re absorbing are right for us.

We take advice from people who have never done the things we want to achieve.

We listen to people who bring us down and make us question ourselves.

We’re influenced by people who don’t have our best interests at heart.

We allow toxic people to remain in our world, eroding our mindset.

All of this holds us back from achieving our true potential.

During my recent launch of Business Success Bootcamp, I was hit by signals and sabotages all over the place. Things broke. People crashed up against me. I got really ill. It was tough!

As the cart came to a close, I realised that all of this happened because I was up levelling. I’d outgrown my space and the universe was screaming at me to catch up.

I left a whole bunch of Facebook groups. I disconnected with people who don’t have my best interests at heart. I got intentional about exactly who I want to have in my circle.

Because here’s the thing… relationships are everything. And having the right relationships, ones you treasure, ones you nurture, ones that mutually beneficial… those are what will help you evolve and be the best version of yourself.

If you’d like to start protecting your own inner circle, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Which groups or communities serve your highest purpose?
  • Which groups or communities make you feel good?
  • Which people have achieved what you’re aspiring to?
  • Which people have helped others achieve what you’re aspiring to?
