Creating a great product and building a great audience are not enough to make sales. It takes more than that.
In this episode of Be the Change, I’m talking to marketing expert Zach Spuckler about how we can learn from the greats and turn each of our launches into real sell-out events.
Be the change is a mini-series here on The Simply Smart Business Show where I get down to it with leaders in the online business world to talk about the problems facing our industry today and (most importantly) how we can create the changes we want to see.

Takeaways from this show:
- We need to stop thinking of launches as a quick influx of cash. We should think about how we can serve our audiences with the launch itself.
- Launches are also about changing the way people view products and problems and themselves. We have to anticipate their objections and beliefs and deal with those. This is a by-product of the Internet marketing landscape becoming more sophisticated.
- Challenges are still a really effective way to launch. You can show up and build rapport, connection and reciprocity with your audience. It’s dramatically different to using a 60-minute webinar as your launch trigger.
- Tip: When you talk about your challenge, keep reminding people that you’ll be showing up, that you’re there for them.
- With a challenge, you have time to create real belief in you and your offer and in their own ability to take action, because you can guide them towards a specific result during your time together.
- To quote James Wedmore, “the transformation is in the transaction”.
- There needs to be strategic thinking about you’re actually teaching as part of your challenge, the experience you create and the natural next step (i.e. what they buy from you).
- Just because your fans or followers like and adore you doesn’t mean you have customers.
- The more energy and time you put into building your audience and nurturing them before asking for the sale, the larger the launch is going to be.
- Take action every single day to reach new people.
