Welcome to the latest episode of The Simply Smart Business Show. In this show I’m talking about how to sell your products, programmes and services without that feeling of “ick”.

So many business owners, in all kinds of industries, feel really ick about selling. This seems particularly common in the UK – us Brits really don’t like it for some reason.
I’ve managed to avoid this horrid sales stuff for a long time by relying on my stash of inbound marketing techniques, which I excel at (if I do say so myself).
Last year, I decided to tackle my fears head on. I wanted to stop feeling uncomfortable whenever I have to pitch my services. I wanted to give my mindset a 180.
This all prompted me to take some fantastic authentic selling training with Kendrick Shope, who is just absolutely brilliant. I learned so much, and it really flipped my belief system on its head.
Today I’m sharing a handful of tips that will help you move past that ick:
- Really get to grips with the fact that through your products and your services, you’re helping people.
- Believe in your offerings absolutely (because if you don’t nobody will). This means tackling any negative self-beliefs you have.
- Remember that every single move you make is actually selling. Every email, every call, every social media post. You may not be selling a product, but you’re always selling yourself.
- Nurture the fans you already have, and make them an offer. The fortune is in the follow-up, and all that.
Hopefully these points have helped prompt a shift in your mindset when it comes to selling. For more insights, tips, and examples of how I’ve implemented these myself, check out this week’s show.
