Finding your soul’s work

As Seen In...

Welcome to the latest episode of The Simply Smart Business Show. In this show I’m talking about figuring out what you’re “meant” to be doing, in the ever-evolving world of running a business.

I’ve often found that the single biggest hurdle that stands in the way of business owners thriving, is mindset.

It can really trip you up. It’s those negative self beliefs, your own back stories, fears of being uncomfortable, the horrible things we say to ourselves… we can be really mean. And we can create blocks for ourselves that sometimes seem overwhelming. But here’s the thing, if you work through those blocks, you can achieve anything.

This is something I like to focus on with my mastermind members. I create a safe space to go deep, and explore all parts of ourselves, with no judgement.

I share my own stories too. It’s easy for people to think that I’ve made it. I jump on lives all the time; I collaborate with some really big names; I have a big, thriving community; I sell a range of great products… but that hasn’t always been the case. I’ve struggled with all of these too, but by working on myself I have allowed by business to evolve.

I tell people that I’ll never reach my final destination, because I’ll always be looking towards the next one. I always be learning new things, and improving myself, and improving my service. That’s growth.

Recently, at one of my mastermind VIP days, I opened up the floor to do some deep work. There were some true breakthroughs and a-ha moments. And there were some huge steps being taken by the end of the day. And in the midst of all this, I had a moment.

I realised that this, what I was doing with them, is what I should be doing. This is my soul’s work.

I do lots of different things in my business, and I love them all. But this stuff? Joining people on their journey. Helping them to bring their dreams to life. This is the stuff that makes me glow.

But these masterminds were never part of my plan. The idea came as a bit of a lightning strike last year, so I just went with it. After putting together that first group, I just fell in love with it.

The lesson here is to lean into whatever feels right. Test out those wild and crazy ideas. If something doesn’t fit, tweak it, or abandon it completely. But if it does? And you find something that LIGHT YOU UP? That’s where the gold is.

Look for the things that give you goosebumps. The things that are in perfect alignment. The things that feel easy. If you can tap into that thing that lights a fire beneath you, you’ve made it.
