Doing it fast and messy

Over the past 6 or 7 months, I’ve been playing around with a new marketing system that involves SIMPLIFYING a lot of the overwhelming tactics we have thrown our way on a daily basis.

It really worked for me. I got to a point where I had way more time to work on my business because I was only focusing on marketing techniques that had a big impact.

After seeing the results I was getting myself, I sort of had it in the back of my mind that I wanted to turn this system into a product.

I spoke to both of my mastermind groups about the idea, and they were eager to have me test it on them… the only thing was, this fell slap bang in the middle of my latest launch. That meant I didn’t have an awful lot of time to plan it all out, create the content and do all the stuff I would normally do.

I had two choices:

  1. Wait a month so I would have enough time to put together something perfect.
  2. Do it fast and messy.

(I chose the latter.)

And I’m glad I did. I think I got exactly the same outcome I would have if I’d have leaned into my inner perfectionism and spent all my time making it beautiful.

I didn’t use fancy tech. In fact, I didn’t use any tools that I actually had to pay for. I delivered the training in the mastermind Facebook groups. I created the videos with Powerpoint presentations and Loom. I turned the slides into a PDF and stashed that in Amazon S3, so they’d be in the cloud and easily accessible.

That was all. Anyone could do it… and that really is proof that doing it fast and messy works.
