Banksy’s ‘Angel holding skull’ piece on Old Street, London, seems to have a new critic who has, ironically, ruined the ‘graffiti art’ with graffiti. The piece was originally a tribute to graffiti artist, Ozone, who lost his life along with fellow artist Wants when they were hit by an underground train in 2007.
Banksy wrote on his website: ‘The last time I hit this spot I painted a crap picture of two men in banana costumes waving hand guns. A few weeks later a writer called Ozone completely dogged it and then wrote “If it’s better next time I’ll leave it” in the bottom corner.’ After Ozone lost his life, Banksy made the tribute by covering the original art with the Angel.
It appears a fellow graffiti artist didn’t think it was better this time round.

This hasn’t ruined anything!
Graffiti, by its very nature is a temporary, evolving artform. Why else do you think that Banksy himself tags “Designated Graffiti Area” on blank walls? It’s to encourage others to cover that space with their art.
As for this being a tribute piece, you’ll notice that the covering art is also a tribute.
Very good …!!
What was scribbled over Banksy’s work is not art at all–it’s just a degenerates way of seeking fame and making themselves feel better. Say no to NON art fags.
