100 pieces of business advice – by you

As Seen In...

[tweetmeme]Last week I ran a couple of social media workshops and wanted to show live examples of how you can use the tools on the day. I decided to ask a question to show the kind of response you can get from social media and both tweeted the question and added it to Linked In.

The question I asked came from an interesting chat in the pub with the guys at Mat Dolphin (our studio buddies): What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

The responses came flooding in (for which I thank you all) and I loved them. So much so that I thought I’d make the most of them in a blog post of their very own. Et voila:

  1. Always be true to yourself
  2. Always be straight forward in your dealings be it personal or professional
  3. What doesn’t kill you makes you a funny motherf***er
  4. Do what you enjoy. No one is good at things they don’t enjoy so don’t do them if you don’t have to
  5. Sometimes it’s smart to give up and move on
  6. Promise great results but deliver excellent results. Overdeliver always!
  7. Don’t sweat the small stuff

  14. Take responsibility and accountability for your actions and decisions. If something does not go the way you wanted it to then you should analyse the situation being honest enough to admit where you caused or added to the problem

  16. You can do anything you put your mind to
  17. You’ll never get rich working for someone else
