Welcome to the latest episode of The Simply Smart Business Show. In this show, I’m talking about the widespread myth that there is some sort of “secret sauce” to success.

Listen to this episode here:

We see a lot of big launches in the online space. Launches that claim to be the perfect framework, the ultimate roadmap, the secret sauce… but there’s no such thing.

These people launching these products have had success with these systems, this is true, but that does’t mean it can be replicated for every single person and every single business out there. There are too many variables.

I’ve seen a lot of people buy into these different products and trainings expecting to see exactly the same results, but it’s rarely possible. Not because they don’t work – I’ve seen with my own eyes that they can bring in great results, it’s more that there is no quick fix.

I’m not dissing any of these products, I’m just saying… go in with an open mind. Don’t be seduced by the numbers and the examples – that doesn’t happen for everyone. If you think it will work for you, jump in, but be flexible enough to tweak the lessons you’ve learned for maximum results.

I’ve taken a bunch of courses, and bought a bunch of frameworks, and used all of that learning to develop my own systems that work with my audience, my personality, and my experience. Because this is how you tap into true success.

You keep on going. You keep trying new things and then you hold onto the parts that work (discarding the parts that don’t). All of these programs are guidelines, not step-by-step battle moves designed to fix your life.

For example, a lot of us talk about developing multiple income streams, but then there are some really big entrepreneurs who have found massive success selling a single product. People like Denise Duffield-Thomas and Carrie Green – they’ve really worked on one killer offer, and that works amazingly for them.

There is no ONE way to “make it” in business. It’s about figuring out what will work for you and then trying, trying and trying some more.

Turn up every day, take consistent action, and learn from your failures. Those are the things that will make you a better person, a better leader, and a better entrepreneur.
